Pearls of Perfection

Delta Kappa Omega Chapter established an umbrella program for young ladies called the Ivy Service Club in 1995. At its inception, it was only open to females enrolled at Rickards High School. Through the years, the chapter saw the need to expand the club to all young ladies between the ages of 13 and 18 within the Tallahassee community. With the programs expanded focus, the name was changed to the Pearls of Perfection.

The goals of the Pearls of Perfection are to increase the number of female scholars, heighten self-esteem and values, develop leadership and decision-making skills, promote civic responsibility and enhance cultural awareness. This club is designed to give African-American teenage girls a chance to develop their potential-academically, socially and personally, to make friends and become a vital part of their community.

Pearls of Perfection also advocates on behalf of issues that are important to the community, such as:

  • Reading and Math Enrichment Program at B.L. Perry Public Library
  • Relay for Life
  • March of Dimes
  • Goodwill Industries of the Big Bend
